A cell telephone lookup is a tool that gives users the chance to style in a call up or cell call up number and obtain a host of information. A beneficial and respected source is http://www.locatemobilephones.org, which is a service which is probably the best free reverse cell call number lookup service available.

How often have you tried to do a reverse telephone number search and failed, especially a cell phone search? The fact is that many phone numbers aren't listed. This can cause quite a problem though if you're looking for a specific number urgently.

Obviously the urgency factor can vary from needing to find out who's making prank calls to your phone, to needing to find out a cell phone number on your spouse's bill that seems a bit odd or suspicious.

There are several methods of finding the numbers owner. If it's a landline then use the White Pages, if it's unlisted then you will have to dig deeper and potentially use an online database.

Where the number is a cell phone number you don't really have much of a choice. Cell phone network providers don't release ownership details into the public domain. This makes a cell phone owner search difficult but not impossible. You can try and find the owner by going on the net and type the number in the search box with the area code and see what happens – sometimes it works and at least it's free. You can try calling the number from an outside phone booth using *67 although this is probably the least 'sensible' thing to do as you could be alerting the 'prankster' or spousal cheater that you're on to them and all they will do is just switch numbers!

If none of the above suggestions have worked then there is another option that is relatively easier and less time consuming and that is using an reverse cell phone directory. Using one is not free – it involves a small fee anywhere from $10 – $35. The reason for this is that these directories are online databases which have to be constantly updated as new phones are added.

When using one of these directories for a reverse telephone number search it's important to use one that allows you to test whether the cell phone numbers owner is on the database
